Top 10 most watched cartoons

Since time immemorial cartoons have entertained and amused us, and some of the most famous cartoon characters around signify different things to different people. People often say that cartoons are only for children and young adults, but this is certainly not true. In the cartoon world, there is something for absolutely everyone around.  

There are thousands of different cartoon characters that have been with us for many years, and some of them are far more easily recognizable than others. Many people have grown up with certain characters, and seeing these faces now only brings up a lot of memories and makes them nostalgic. So without further ado, let's take a look at some of the most famous cartoon characters of all time. Please note that this is a mix of cartoon characters from cartoon series and comic books. There are plenty more characters where these came from, and you can find more famous cartoon characters here.


Superman is a fictional character, a comic book superhero appearing in publications by DC Comics, widely considered to be an American cultural phenomenon.He was basically designed by artist Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel.Now various television programs, films and video games are developed on this influential character.

2. Mickey Mouse. 

Mickey Mouse is an American comic animal cartoon character who has become an icon for The Walt Disney Company. It is an amazing cartoon character created by Walt Disney in the year 1928. He is one of the best and famous cartoon character who has won Academy Award. It is now the identity by which the Walt Disney Company is been recognized.

3. Donald Duck. 

Donald Duck, a cartoon character created by the Walt Disney Company, is today the star of dozens of comic-book and comic-strip stories published. Voice of Donald Duck was given by Clarence "Ducky" Nash and Tony Anselmo.

4. Spiderman. 

Spiderman is yet another fictional character developed by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Marvel comics was a huge success after its publication. Many of movies and video games are been developed on this fictional character. The character was created by writer and editor Stan Lee and artist and co-plotter Steve Ditko.

5. Tom & Jerry

Tom and Jerry is a series of animated theatrical shorts created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera  that centered on a never-ending rivalry between a housecat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry) whose chases and battles often involved comic violence. In Tom and Jerry Tom is a cat and Jerry is a mouse , a team which is very much popular from age 3 to 60. Both of them are Academy Award winner. They were mostly directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. They were produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio in Hollywood.

6. Batman

Batman is an ongoing comic book series featuring the DC Comics hero of the same name. The character first appeared in Detective Comics #27, published in May 1939. Batman proved to be so popular that a self-titled ongoing comic book series began publication in the spring of 1940. It was created by famous Bob Kane and Bill Finger.
7. Popeye the sailor man 

Popeye the Sailor is a very famous cartoon character, who first came under public eye in 1929. Created by Elzie Crisler Segar, Popeye has become a very successful franchise. Each snippet of the character is about his overcoming of certain troubles by eating a can of Spinach, which gives him superhuman strength and intelligence. One of the most interesting facets of the series is his long standing rivalry with Bluto, for the affections of Olive Oyl.

8. Garfield. 

Garfield is a comic strip created by Jim Davis. Published since June 19, 1978, it chronicles the life of the title character, the cat Garfield (named after Davis' grandfather); his owner, Jon Arbuckle; and Arbuckle's dog, Odie.

9. Bart Simpson

Bartholomew JoJo "Bart" Simpson is a fictional main character in the animated television series The Simpsons and part of the eponymous family. Nancy Cartwright has won several awards for voicing Bart, including a Primetime Emmy Award in 1992 and an Annie Award in 1995. In 2000, Bart, along with the rest of his family, was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

10.Bugs Bunny 

Bugs Bunny is an Academy Award-winning animated rabbit who appears in the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of animated films produced by Warner Bros., and is one of the most recognizable characters in the world.Bugs Bunny. A fictional cartoon rabbit, Bugs Bunny appears in the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of animated films produced by Leon Schlesinger.
Here I have posted a  list of top ten most watched and loved cartoon and comic characters. I was just recalling my childhood memories and it gave me idea to post my personal 10 favorite cartoon characters.Hope you liked it....
